Founded by Frederik Duerinck, Scentronix is a company based in the Netherlands that is opening the future of the fragrance market with algorithmic perfumes.

Scentronix can create hyper personalized perfumes thanks to a software artificial intelligence and special hardware. Another reflection of a trend, the one that responds to consumers' growing desire for uniqueness and impeccable personalization.

Scentronix and the "olfactory printer"

The device under development is something of a cross between an inkjet printer and a strange mobile bar. An algorithm organizes and “combines” the various ingredients, which are dosed by the device until the desired mixture is obtained.

The machine for "algorithmic perfumery": the mixing line and the computer that regulates the entire production flow.

“Smart” perfumes were presented as part of a traveling exhibition in Europe and North America. The next steps for Scentronix are geared towards creating a consumer product that combines extreme precision and a wider range of fragrances.

The potential of a system like Scentronix can be remarkable; first of all to create an entire market.

The possibility of combining essences to obtain a perfume that marries perfectly with your skin has a lot of market.

An artificial intelligence can create infinite perfumes, all different, and also develop entire “seasons” of fragrances sent remotely to all machines, to reproduce them to perfection.

The entrance of the “algorithmic perfumery” that Scentronix opened to the public on the unfortunate date of 7 February.

In mid-2019 Frederick Duerinck was working with two perfumers to create a more commercialized product. The inauguration of a first test store in New York took place on February 7, just days after the outbreak of the largest pandemic outbreak in America.

Try again, Scent: the attempt could succeed over the next year.
