Geoingegneria marina, stop a El Niño schiarendo le nuvole? Mah

Uno studio su Science Advances propone geoingegneria marina mirata: aerosol per schiarire le nuvole e attenuare El Niño. Come sempre, siamo perplessi.

Gianluca Riccio

A dramatic wide-angle aerial view of the Pacific Ocean under a turbulent sky, where large, bright white marine clouds dominate the scene above deep blue-grey storm waters. On one side of the image, dark, ominous storm clouds churn with the intensity of an El Niño weather system, while on the other side, luminous, artificially brightened cumulus clouds reflect intense sunlight back toward space. Fine mist particles drift upward from the ocean surface, subtly illuminating the boundary between natural and altered atmosphere. The overall mood is tense and ambiguous — visually spectacular but uncertain — rendered in a photorealistic editorial style with dramatic natural lighting, high contrast between shadow and brilliance, and a cinematic color palette of deep ocean blues, steel greys, and stark whites.
