I modelli linguistici hanno bisogno di dormire (non scherzo)

Uno studio CMU fa "dormire" i modelli linguistici: passaggi offline che trasformano il contesto in memoria. Più sonno, più ragionamento.

Gianluca Riccio

A surreal, editorial-style digital illustration of a humanoid robot or AI entity lying in a dreamlike sleep state, its translucent head revealing glowing neural network pathways and hippocampal structures softly pulsing inside. The figure rests on a bed made of flowing streams of text and data, which gradually compress and consolidate into dense, luminous nodes as they are absorbed into the sleeping machine. Around it, a dark, quiet environment suggests nighttime stillness and cognitive processing — faint graph structures, mathematical symbols, and memory fragments float like dream imagery in the background air. The color palette is deep indigo and midnight blue with warm amber and soft gold highlights representing active memory consolidation. The overall mood is contemplative, scientific, and quietly wondrous — the beauty of a machine learning to rest in order to think more deeply.
