Come sarà la città del futuro? Cinque scenari da qui a cent’anni

Lungolago mobili, vicoli che bevono pioggia, taxi nel cielo: cinque scenari su come potrebbe essere la città del futuro.

Gianluca Riccio

A sweeping futuristic cityscape of Chicago reimagined in 2126, rendered in a warm, cinematic architectural visualization style. The lakefront features a fluid, adaptive waterfront with elevated residential towers rising above ground level along the river, their bases surrounded by lush urban forests, wetlands, and continuous green corridors. Former asphalt alleyways have been transformed into verdant bioswales with dense vegetation absorbing rainfall. The skyline blends historic early-20th-century architecture with soaring new towers. Small electric low-altitude aerial vehicles move between decentralized transit hubs. Wide, tree-lined pedestrian walkways and generous public plazas dominate the street level. The atmosphere is warm and slightly humid, bathed in golden late-afternoon light, with a slightly elevated lake visible in the background. The overall mood is ambitious, contemplative, and visionary — evoking the tension between bold urban idealism and the slow, complicated reality of building cities.
